Painted Lampshade DIY
I have been admiring these lampshades from Room & Board for some time. They are a bit pricy. So, I was inspired to paint my own. Using a plain linen lampshade from Pottery Barn and a little Benjamin Moore sample paint, I was able to create a lampshade that matches my living room, without breaking the bank.
First, I lightly drew some leaves onto the lampshade. I wanted the paint to be even all around so, I needed a base before painting.
At first I thought that I only wanted tone on tone, but the lampshade really had no punch.
So I added a second and third color.
No, it is not Room & Board, but I am happy with the outcome and the price.
Love this Kaite!! It makes me want to do one now for my living room! Great Job!
I LOVE IT! Great job!!!
Are you kidding me??? Great job Katie! Is there anything you can’t do? :)))
LOTS! :)
Nice idea – fabulous results!! Thanks for sharing your inspiration :)
Looks awesome!
Wow!! so creative and resourceful! Love the lampshade.
This is a really beautiful shade!! I saw it in person and it is even better than the pictures!
GORGEOUS! I love the leave motif and the dual paints! Beautiful.
I went on Room & Board and I actually like yours better!…what kind of brush did you use?
Thanks! I just used a watercolor/acrylic brush that I had here – and I am not even sure which size it is. (Smaller with pointed tip will work the best)
