Whenever we go on the road, this sample is always a crowd favorite. We’re happy to now be able to offer Gradient, a pattern from the talented Jill Zelinski, as a Nice & Knit Kit! The Gradient kit includes a printed pattern and 3 full skeins of Nice & Knit Sport weight yarn in the striking combination of Bayside, Barnacle and Seagrass. Gradient is an easy pattern that’s knit as a tube and grafted together at the end. It’s a great project for a beginner knitter who wants to try some color work and chart reading. It’s a quick enough project that there’s still time to knit this for Christmas or since it’s already packaged up as a kit, it’s a great gift to give for the recipient to knit! …or go ahead and add it to your own christmas list. ;) From now until Monday, Dec 5th save $9.00 with the code GRADIENT at checkout. Sale ends 12/5 midnight, eastern time.

Now that the weather has turned much colder and the first snow of the season has fallen we’ve been wearing as many hand knits as we can. As we went through our stash of samples, we realized our Ingy hat needed a second look. We concluded that just a few small changes would make for some big improvements. As a result, we’ve updated the pattern to give the fabric a bit more stretch and the cables a bit more squish.
If you have previously purchased the pattern you should have received an email update to download the latest copy.
The New England Fiber Festival is just over one week away! We’ve been dyeing and knitting and planning and packing and organizing every spare second we have. The New England Fiber Festival, held at the Big E fairgrounds in Springfield, MA, is a weekend no fiber-lover should miss. It’s full of talented fiber artists and farmers who have everything from roving, to hand-dyed yarn, to woven rugs, purses, soaps, and so much more.
We will be there Saturday Nov. 5 from 9am – 5pm and Sunday Nov. 6 from 9am – 3pm. You can find us in booths 472/473 and other than just coming to see our smiling faces you’ll find a ton of new samples, a bunch of new kits, a new pattern, our be happy tee’s, and skinny mini skeins available for individual purchase. And of course we’ll have a full stash of individual full skeins in all 4 of our standard weights!
Hope to see you there. Please stop by and say “hi!”, it invigorates us and it’s so fun for us to meet and chat with each of you!
Finding happiness can be hard work, but thanks to a couple of sticks and some yarn its never too far away. Personally, Katie and I have more than a million reasons to be happy but today at the top of our list is this new accessory we just launched in the Nice & Knit online shop! Our new knitting inspired ‘Be Happy’ tee is available for just $18 in five fun colors (pink, heather green, gray, lime green, and blue) and makes a great holiday gift, too! Tee’s are 100% cotton and available in sizes SM-XL.
I’m happy to say I did finish my pond hopper hat by my intended deadline a few weeks ago – in just one day as a matter of fact! But since then it taken me exponentially longer just to get the FO pics as it did to actually knit it! Such a quick, and enjoyable knit and like all of Alicia Plummer’s designs, it’s a great pattern. Keep this on your holiday to-knit list for a last minute gift!
I’m about to hop on a plane to Florida in just a few minutes but I brought the yarn to cast on for the pondhopper mitts to match!
I’m making great progress on my pretty poncho knit along. I’ve chosen to knit a three color Boden in driftwood, dockside, and cherrystone for the main color. I think it’ll be amazing with a plaid shirt underneath for Thanksgiving.
I’m enjoying the wonderful renewed knitting furry that comes this time of year for me – I feel like I cant put the needles down.
