For Those Who are Longing for Summer…

These photos are for you because to me they have Summer written all over them.

This little knitted whale that we’ve named “Moby” (but Brooklyn fondly refers to as “feeeessshhheeeeee”) was a very fun and quick project that I’d highly recommend for a little baby gift or just for your very own little one if you have one. I started him on late Monday night, didn’t work on him on Tuesday and finished him Wednesday evening.  I plan to make another so that there is one for each of my kids! Yes, that’s right we’re getting close to baby #2 joining us and I just can’t wait! I have a lot more knitting I want to do for him though which hopefully I’ll get done and share soon!

The pattern for this whale is extremely easy to follow and can be purchased over on Ravelry!

But the cold hard truth (pun intended) is that we have a few more months of winter and with the temperatures where they have been lately, we need to layer up! So with that let’s announce our next

Nice & Knit Along!

Starting Monday we’ll be hosting a Hat AND/OR Mittens knitalong!  We’ll begin on Monday, January 13 and cast off by February 28 so that there’s still some time left to actually wear them this winter. You decide if you want to knit a hat, mittens or both and share your progress all along the way!  Ravelry forum has been set up so share your project ideas, yarn, progress, questions, frustrations, rants and finished objects there.  And don’t forget to share pictures on Instagram and Facebook too with the hashtag #nkkal! Speaking of, the Facebook contest we were running — the winner will be picked tomorrow! Just in time for our hat knit along. So if you haven’t already, “like” us on Facebook for your chance to win a Nice & Knit Beanie Kit!

Tomorrow we’ll post some projects to inspire you!
