Nice & Tasty: Sweet and Tangy Fruit Dip
An unexpected pairing of brown sugar and sour cream make for this deliciously sweet treat you don’t need to feel too guilty about! My sister Colleen made this for my last birthday and it’s become a new go-to snack for me these days. On these hot summer days it’s pretty cool and refreshing too. It couldn’t be any more simple or any more quick to make. All you need to do is take 1 cup of sour cream and add 2 tablespoons of brown sugar. Mix and let it sit in the refrigerator for a bit – or if you’re too impatient like me – then just dig in!
If you want to cut some calories you can always opt for low-fat sour cream too! It goes great with any fresh fruit but my fruit of choice these days are Pink Lady apples. They’re crisp and tart which is a great balance to the sweet dip.
Bonus tip: If you don’t want your apples to turn brown soak them in a little pineapple juice! Yes, lemon juice works too, but I find that it changes the flavor of the apples too much and makes them too sour. Soak them in a little pineapple juice and they’ll stay bright and fresh for hours!
