A New Knit for a Wee One & a Winner

I can’t mention any names, but someone I know is about to become a first time mother to what I am sure will be a very lovely little boy. So in honor of this little man, I am working on a Vintage Cardigan for him. I cast it on last Saturday after a very successful trip to WEBS for yarn. I have just the sleeves left to finish.

I’m working on this in Madelinetosh Sport. The color is called Worn Denim. I got two skeins but just one will be enough so I have the other skein for another project — I’m thinking maybe a hat.  I really really love this color. It’s even better in person.

I’ve made this project before which you can see here. I really love this pattern because it’s quick and simple but doesn’t look like your average baby knit.  I spent a good hour digging around Ravelry looking for just the right cardigan only to come right back to this one.

As I mentioned, I took a trip to WEBS last Saturday.  It was a spur of the moment decision when I woke up Saturday morning and I’m really glad Katie and my mom could come along too.  This is what the stroller looked like as we walked around the store, we almost ran out of room for Brooklyn!

I am crazy about the yarn I got and can’t wait to cast on my projects. I’ll be casting on Dressage today in this beautiful color for the Nice & Knit Fall Sweaters Knitalong!

We’re happy to let Amyproto (protoknits) know that you are the winner of the $25 WEBS giftcard. She will be knitting Nordic Trail for our knitalong. Amy, we hope you enjoy. We’re so excited to see everyone’s knitalong progress. Be sure to keep us up to date, share photos, and ask questions in our Ravelry forum.

  1. What a sweet little baby sweater — and I love that color. All the colors you have chosen are really pretty. I especially like the nightbloom

  2. What a beautiful selection! I knit a Happa hat in Vintage Nightbloom and it’s one of the most beautiful colors I’ve ever seen. That sweater is going to be great. :)
