It didn’t happen.

I wanted to finish Chance of Showers by the end of the month. It didn’t happen.

This is a microcosm of my life.  I have a tendency to underestimate the amount of work something takes and overestimate how much I can really do in any given 24 hour period.  I’m learning, figuring it out, and trying to let go when I need to. Sorry friends, this was one that I had to let go – BUT I haven’t given up.

I am still very happy with my progress and how this sweater is turning out. I do my best to sneak in at least a row or two of knitting per day. I’m very excited to finish. The sleeves are done and I’m working the main body of the sweater. It’s worked in short rows and so it’s going fairly quickly. Maybe I’ll find time to finish it by the end of August…

It’s really not too bad when you consider I only started it on July 13! How did I really think I was going to get it done in 2 weeks? Sometimes I really wonder where I get these crazy ideas from….

  1. I would say what you have completed is impressive! I’m glad you’re giving yourself some grace, because I’m impressed and it’s turning out beautiful!

  2. aw mannnn

great pattern, interesting construction. I’m making my first cardigan ever and it’s so painfully slow. I started at the beginning of july and will also be lucky to be finished by the end of august!

  3. Kara, with all you have going on in your life, I am amazed that you are able to get that much done! (If you want something done, give it to a busy person, right?)

  4. It’s gorgeous. I’m definitely like you when it comes to gauging the time it will take to complete a project. Can’t wait to see the completed project.

  5. That scenario happens to me a lot. What I do now though is block out 3-4 hr periods dedicated to work on a specific topic (google calendar). So far it looks good so just finish it off and mail it!
