January KAL Motivations

I joined Tanis Fiber Arts January KAL at the beginning of this month with great intentions.  But then, in striving to keep one of my goals, I decided to finish what I started.  Back in the spring I began knitting Tanis’s pattern, I heart Aran, I picked it up again this month and finished.  I modified the pattern to a v-neck vest, and I am happy I did.

The reason it took me so long to finish had nothing to do with the lovely pattern or the beautiful yarn.  I had made a mistake when splitting the V-neck, and once a mistake is made, it is so hard for me to find the energy to rip it out.  I wish I had finished months ago – because it is a perfect fit.  I love the versatility of the vest, I will be able to wear it Winter, Spring & Fall.

The Aran Weight of Tanis Fiber Arts yarn is squishy and the stitch definition is supurb.

I am happy with the V-neck, but would like to redo the castoff, as it is a pretty tight fit over my head.

  1. Katie, this is beautiful. I really like the color and the pattern. I am amazed that you know how to modify patterns and all those quirky things!! Mothers are amazed by what their children can do ;-)

  2. Beautiful! I love your mod, vests are so versatile as layering pieces. And what gorgeous photography, goodness you make my yarn look good. ;)
